First Season As A Club
How It All Started
Worcester Warriors Football Club started its humble beginnings in 2016 competing in its inaugural season in the Bay State Soccer League (BSSL), a local amateur league. After several years developing in the BSSL the team was invited to make the jump up to the United Premier Soccer League (UPSL), a national semi-professional league recognized as the 4th tier in the U.S. soccer pyramid.

In 2021, we started our first campaign in the UPSL Northeast division, but sadly due to the Covid-19 pandemic our first two seasons were cut short. In 2022, we were back fully functioning and travelling all over New England competing against teams from the region.

Our Philosophy
As a club we have recognized the impact we can have on our community. As the premier club representing the city of Worcester’s name, we have an obligation to represent the city with the highest degree of respect. As such we have made it our mission to not only develop great athletes, but great people.
On the athletic side of things, our goal is to offer high-level soccer to athletes who are seeking to develop their on-field skills. To this, there is a major gap in the U.S. soccer system where players who don’t compete at the college level or fail to immediately gain a pro contract post-college have nowhere to go in their career. That’s where we come in and fill the void for those players looking to further their career.
Beyond the field, we are not just a soccer club, we are a tight-knit community with strong bonds and shared values. We embody these values in how we band together to help people off the field. In early 2023, we began offering internships to local college students to gain experience in our very niche field of work. We attend yearly sports summits to better connect with students and offer internship opportunities through Handshake. Not only do we look to uplift future sports management majors in their journey through the real world job market, but also look to assist the local community through community outreach programs.
